"I am 16, I want to ride a moped. What do I need, to ride a moped?"
=============
...
You need a provisional licence with catagory P then to validate this licence you need to take a C.B.T (Complusory Basic Training) which will last you 2 years. At the age of 17 you can ride anything upto a 125cc motorcycle or scooter.

"What is a C.B.T?"
============
.
A C.B.T is a Compulsory Basic Training course, it is not a test as many people think. All learner motorcyclists and moped riders must complete a C.B.T before riding on the road.
A C.B.T course takes about 6 hours depending on ability, and once completed is valid for two years. You will spend about two hours in the class room, learning the theory, then about two hours off road but this can be longer, learning the basics of motorcycle control, then at least two hours on the road.

" I have a C.B.T, I want to take my full test, what routes can I take?"
=========
...
If you are under 21, you can take your test on a 125cc, this will restrict you to a machine upto 33bhp for the first two years. If you are over 21, you can take your test on a 125cc with the same restriction, or as most people seem to, you can take your test on a bike bigger than 46bhp which will enable you to ride any motorcycle you wish once you have passed your test.

"Do I need a theory test to do my C.B.T?"
========
...
The answer is no, you only need a theory to take your full motorcycle or car test.
